Extend the industrial chain, actively register trademarks, and carry out technical training … Since the second batch of thematic education was launched, Fugou County, Henan Province has further promoted the upgrading of vegetable industry, injected endogenous power into the overall revitalization of rural areas, and promoted agricultural efficiency, farmers’ income and rural development.
Early in the morning, in Zhailou Village, Chaigang Township, Fugou County, Henan Province, on the eastern plain of Henan Province, the wind was cold, but the greenhouse was warm and harmonious. After several months of careful management, the celery planted by vegetable farmer Chen Erfei grows happily. Dozens of villagers are busy picking vegetables, packing and boxing, and their faces are filled with the joy of harvest.
"With such a good harvest, why go out to work?" Chen Erfei, who lives in suburban township, has contracted 21 greenhouses to grow vegetables in Zhailou Village, with a total area of over 100 mu. Last year, most of the vegetables he planted were sold outside the province, and the benefits were not bad, attracting more than 50 people to find jobs stably.
Chen Erfei’s experience is related to a message suggestion in the "Leadership Message Board" of People’s Daily. Some enthusiastic netizens left a message, suggesting that Fugou County extend the industrial chain of primary agricultural products, expand the scale of vegetable industry, build a brand of "Fugou Vegetables" and increase jobs.
Since the launch of the second batch of theme education, Fugou County has combined theme education with practical work to further promote the upgrading of vegetable industry, inject strong endogenous power into the overall revitalization of rural areas, and promote agricultural efficiency, farmers’ income and rural development.
Chain extension and chain supplement—
Cultivate deep processing enterprises
Increase the added value of agricultural products
Yangcungang Village, Lvtan Township, Fugou County is a famous "Xilanhua Village" in the local area.
"The fresh-keeping period of broccoli is short, and if it is not sold out, it can only be sold at a low price if it is not refrigerated in time, and even at a low price, it may be unsalable, affecting the income of the people." Liu Zhiyuan, secretary of the Party branch of Yangcungang Village, told the reporter that five cold storages were built by the village’s self-raised funds, which could not meet the needs because of the old equipment and small capacity.
In May last year, Fugou county launched the activity of "observing people’s feelings, listening to people’s opinions, gathering people’s hearts and solving people’s worries", and took the construction of storage and fresh-keeping facilities and the cultivation of deep-processing enterprises as concrete measures to extend the industrial chain and promote rural development.
Soon after, the village of Yangcungang ushered in good news: in the form of government subsidies to the village collective shares, it is planned to build three new 500-ton cold storage and an ice-making factory to ease the difficulties of vegetable refrigeration and transportation.
The cold storage and ice-making factory were built in the wasteland at the east end of the village. Construction started in July last year and was put into use in October. The total storage of cold storage in Yangcungang Village reached more than 3,000 tons, which can increase the collective income of the village by about 60,000 yuan every year. At the same time, supporting the logistics industry, providing more than 200 jobs for the villagers, loading and unloading and warehousing each ton of income in 120 yuan, realizing the collective income increase and farmers getting rich hand in hand.
"With these cold storages built in the fields, our broccoli is fresh and insured." Liu volunteered.
The planting area of pepper in Biangang Town is more than 50,000 mu, and the daily harvest in mature season is more than 300 tons. The development of refined and deep processing of pepper has become a breakthrough to enhance the added value of pepper and continuously increase farmers’ income.
Walking into the processing workshop of Biangang Town’s Red Pepper Planting Cooperative, a strong smell of "pepper" came to my face. Workers are making dried peppers into ready-to-eat Chili sauce through automated production lines and selling them to the market.
"At the beginning of the establishment of the cooperative, there were only two dry pepper production lines in the drying workshop. Last year, with the support of the government, a new pepper intensive processing plant and intensive processing production line were built, with a daily output of 20 tons of pickled peppers and 10 tons of bad peppers. " Yu Haijun, head of the local red pepper planting cooperative, said that after intensive processing, peppers can be stored for a longer period of time, and the profit per catty can be increased by about 1 yuan.
Cooperatives realized the transformation from rough processing to deep processing, and adopted the model of "cooperative+base+farmer" to develop more than 30,000 mu of planting bases, driving 16,000 households to increase their income and become rich.
Brand building-
Subsidies for registered trademarks
Broaden the marketing channels
In the early morning, in the trading market of Meiyuan Vegetable Cooperative in Meiqiao Village, Chaigang Township, vegetable farmers brought in freshly picked cucumbers, weighed them, settled them and loaded them, which was a busy scene.
"Since the establishment of the cooperative in the village, the Meiqiao cucumber brand has been launched. Most of our cucumbers are sold to large supermarkets and wholesale markets by booking. The price is higher than before, and the sales are not worrying." Megan Qing, secretary of the party branch of Meiqiao Village, said.
Meiqiao Village has developed facility vegetable cultivation and become a national "one village, one product" demonstration village. Under the guidance of the government, the village party branch led the Meiyuan Vegetable Cooperative, registered the trademark of Meiyuan, and recruited 218 vegetable farmers as members, with an annual income of 16,000 yuan per capita, driving the surrounding vegetable planting area to reach more than 30,000 mu.
The development of branding makes Meiqiao cucumber more and more famous. In Mei Genqing’s view, Meiqiao cucumber is not only a vegetable, but also a "rich dish" for villagers to increase their income.
"Great, the application has finally succeeded, and our products can also use regional trademarks in the future." Liu Shunde, the person in charge of Henan Lvjiu Agricultural Science and Technology Co., Ltd. said that in May last year, "Fugou Leek" was selected into the national list of famous and excellent new agricultural products. Relying on regional public brands, the company developed 26 varieties of leeks, bred 12,000 mu of seed bases, and promoted employment of more than 200 people.
Fugou County grants an average subsidy of 1 million yuan per year to encourage vegetable business entities to actively register trademarks and declare brands. At present, 76 "three products and one standard" (pollution-free agricultural products, green food, organic agricultural products and geographical indications of agricultural products) have been certified, and "Fugou vegetables" have become collective trademarks of geographical indications.
The benefits brought by vegetable brand construction have also been felt by vegetable farmers in Guaiwang Village, suburban township. "In the early years, due to uneven quality and low branding, the retail price of vegetables grown in the village was not high." Ding Zhenying, a vegetable farmer in Guaiwang Village, said.
In June last year, Fugou County Vegetable Development Service Center organized 20 vegetable planting leaders to go out to study and learn advanced experience, and introduced new varieties such as fruit tomatoes, peppers and strawberries, which not only had diverse tastes, but also had high recognition after being introduced to the market.
"Ordinary tomatoes cost three yuan a catty. The fruit tomatoes we grow have their own brands, and they can be sold above 10 yuan per catty, which is still in short supply. " Vegetable farmers told reporters. At present, Guaiwang Village has registered the trademark of "Yuxing", and has also built a new variety trial planting base and a 300-mu standardized sunlight greenhouse.
Scale development—
Carry out planting technology training
Build a platform for employment and entrepreneurship
In the vegetable shed of Delil Modern Agricultural Industrial Park in Fugou County, a string of new tomato varieties with bright red and plump colors ushered in a mature period and were listed in batches one after another.
The industrial park covers an area of 300 mu, with an investment of 35 million yuan in the first phase. The 70,000-square-meter glass greenhouse, 1,000-square-meter seedling center and 35 greenhouses have been put into use.
"It is more convenient to work here, not only close to home, but also to take care of the elderly and children." Ge Meiying, a villager in Meiqiao Village who is working, said, "The monthly salary is more than 2,000 yuan, and 5 mu of land at home is transferred to the base, earning 5,000 yuan a year." Like Ge Meiying, there are more than 200 stable employees in the industrial park, with an annual per capita income of more than 8,000 yuan.
"The park adopts the operation mode of’ government+enterprises+cooperatives+farmers’, establishes an industrial linkage and binding mechanism, and carries out vegetable planting technology training to help more farmers transform into industrial workers." Lou Hongwei, director of Fugou County Vegetable Development Service Center, said.
Zhang Junjie, a villager in Xiying Administrative Village of Chaigang Township, passed the technical training, and contracted three greenhouses in the industrial park last September. He carefully managed them according to the "six unifications" of planning, standards, processes, technology, brand and sales. The tomato harvest in the greenhouses is in sight, and the yield per mu is expected to be more than 5,000 kilograms.
Fugou County, through the operation mode of "multi-platform construction, platform gathering resources, resources serving entrepreneurship", introduced financial subsidies, special low-interest loans and entrepreneurship support subsidies to build a vegetable industry demonstration park entrepreneurship and employment base. 266 vegetable parks with an area of over 100 mu and 168 vegetable planting cooperatives have been built, which has driven nearly 130,000 vegetable employees.
"I have worked in food processing in Shanghai for more than 20 years, and I know the tastes and preferences of local people very well. If only the green organic vegetables in my hometown could be directly supplied to Shanghai!" Jia Qiuyue, a villager in Zhangdian Village, Liansi Town, learned that Morchella has a broad market prospect and is suitable for planting in Fugou County. He resolutely chose to return to his hometown to develop vegetable planting and founded Jincheng Miaoyue Agricultural Park in Fugou County.
"We hired local technicians as technical consultants for perennial production, and intensively planted Morchella, Duobao Melon and beans in a three-crop rotation mode. The green organic melons, vegetables and mushrooms produced were in short supply." Jia Qiuyue told reporters, "Last year, Morchella in 25 greenhouses in the park enjoyed a bumper harvest with a profit of 1 million yuan." Today, Jincheng Miaoyue Agricultural Park employs more than 300 people, and the supply of green organic agricultural products is in short supply.
Industry is the guarantee of employment. When the industry grows, the number of jobs will increase. "We will accelerate the diversified development of the agricultural economy, focus on cultivating and expanding characteristic industries, create more jobs, let the people stay in their hometowns, earn money, live well, and increase their income and get rich on the spot." Sun Hongwei, secretary of Fugou County Party Committee, said. (Reporter Bi Jingjin)
